Robert J. Deitchley

Robert John Deitchley, 85, of St. Paul's Retirement Center, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 11:35 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26.

He was born on Jan. 2, 1916, in Mishawaka, Ind., to the late John and Mary (Van Holsbek) Deitchley.

On Jan. 10, 1941, B ob married the former Margaret Holvoet, who survives. He is also survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Haley Deitchley of South Bend; three grandchildren, Jacob, Noah and Hannah Deitchley; a sister, Marcella Baldwin of Mishawaka; and by a brother, John Deitchley Jr. of South Bend.

Bob retired in 1980 after 20 years at St. Joseph High School in South Bend. He also spent several years after that working at St. Anthony de Padua Parish in South Bend.

A funeral M ass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, in St. Joseph Church, Mishawaka, with Fr. Robert A. Yast officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.

Bob attended St. Joseph Grade School in Mishawaka, as do his grandchildren currently, and his family asks that any memorial contributions be made in Bob's name to St. Joseph Grade School.

Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, is in charge of handling funeral arrangements.
