SOUTH BEND — Euretha Phyllis Deguc, 77, of Ostemo Place, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 5:33 p.m. Sunday, July 29, in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Deguc was born on July 1, 1924, in South Bend, and was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area.

On June 3, 1950, in South Bend, as Euretha P. Harms, she married Thaddeus F. Deguc, who passed away April 28, 1979. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Eugene T. Harms and Frances (Dermer) Harms. Euretha is survived by a daughter, Frances R. Nagy of South Bend; a son, Ted F. Deguc of South Bend; a sister, Ramona Harms Ornat of South Bend; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild whom she loved and cherished, Jennelle, Jeffrey, Patty, Ron Jr. and Jason Nagy, and Carter Evan; a niece, Suzanne Ornat of South Bend; and three nephews, Edward F. Ornat of Mishawaka, Ind., and J. Rudy Ornat and Baron A. Ornat, both of South Bend; and by two great-nephews, Baron M. and Jordan E. Ornat.

Mrs. Deguc worked for many years at Huff's Pharmacy on Portage Avenue, South Bend, retiring in 1988. Mrs. Deguc was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 309 S. Taylor Street, South Bend.

The family request no flowers and, in lieu of, make all memorial contributions to St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church or to the charity of donor's choice. There will be no services or visitation hours, and cremation will take place. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South Bend, handled arrangements and services and extend deepest sympathy and prayers to the Deguc family.
