7, 1903 - Feb. 6, 2010NEW CARLISLE - Mrs. Agnes J. De Groote, 106, of New Carlisle, died at 6:16 AM on February 6, 2010, in LaPorte Hospital. Mrs. De Groote was born November 7, 1903, in Mishawaka, IN, to August and Thressa (Kronewitter) De Groote. On June 18, 1928, in Notre Dame, Indiana, she married Charles De Groote, who preceded her on September 11, 1987. She was a member of St. John Kanty Catholic Church. She was a registered nurse. She was a member of St. John Kanty Rosary Society, member of the Golden Agers, Wills Township Homemakers Club and a member of the Farm Bureau Co-op. She leaves behind one son, Jerome (Nancy) Degroote of Oklahoma City, OK. One son-in-law, Edmund Conklin, Shelton, CT, and one daughter-in-law, Sue DeGroote of La Porte. 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. One sister, Elizabeth Finch, San Diego, CA, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, August and Thressa De Groote; husband, Charles De Groote; two daughters, Mary De Groote and Jeanne Conklin; two sons, John and William De Groote; two sisters, Serena Currey and Louise Vanderbosch; and two brothers, George and Carl De Groote. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 10th, at 10:30 AM La Porte time in St. John Kanty Catholic Church, with Reverend Michael Heimer officiating. A Rosary Service will be held Tuesday at 6:30 PM La Porte time, with Reverend Michael Heimer officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday 4-7 PM and Wednesday 9-10 AM La Porte time in Essling Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame, IN, following the services. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Kanty Catholic Church, 6988 N 600 East, Rolling Prairie, IN 46371; or to the donor's choice. Arrangements are being handled by Essling Funeral Home.
