MISHAWAKA - Marshall F. ''Mike'' DeFauw, 79, of South Charles Street, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital. Mr. DeFauw retired in 1974 from Uniroyal Plastics Co. after 41 years of service and was an employee of Hahn Funeral Home. He was born Oct. 5, 1915, in Moline, Ill., and lived in Mishawaka most of his life.

On Nov. 28, 1936, in Mishawaka, he married Alice M. Bennett. She survives with two daughters, Judith A. ''Judi'' Mortimore of Sun City, Ariz., and Marsha J. Hahn of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of B.K. Club, DeAmici Club, the golf league and senior golf group, both of Club 15, West End Golf League, and St. Bavo's Catholic Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hahn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bavo's School.
