Elaine A. De Cook, 69, of S. Chicago St., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 26, at 8 p.m. in Hospice House of St. Joseph County.
She was born on March 14, 1933, in South Bend to Clem and Gertrude (Kubiak) Slisz who preceded her in death. Also deceased is a brother, Danny Slisz.
Elaine is survived by a son, Paul De Cook of South Bend; two daughters, June (Gary) Dashner of Granger and Bonnie (Mark) Elledge of Cassopolis, Mich.; three grandsons, David and Shawn Dashner, Travis Elledge; a sister, Jeannie Mazurkiewicz of Mishawaka; and a brother, Melvin Slisz Sr., of Mishawaka.
She belonged to Holy Family Catholic Church. She had been employed at Nyloncraft as a press operator for 34 years.
No visitation will be held, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery.
