John De Clercq

MISHAWAKA – John De Clercq, died Sunday at 7 p.m. in his home, 704 E. Mishawaka Ave., following a year of illness and complications. He was 56 years old and was born April 9, 1862 in Belgium. He came to Mishawaka 28 years ago from Toledo.

In 1876 he was united in marriage to Caroline Roth. The surviving children are, August, Mrs. Isadore Van Huffel, Edward, William, Mrs. Ellen Zerbe, of Mishawaka; Frank in France; Mrs. John Dirroll, Toledo, Mrs. May Kuster, South Bend, and two sisters, Mrs. Albert De Corte, of Bay City, and Mrs. Fred Hendricks of Mishawaka.

The funeral will be held Wednesday morning from St. Bavo’s Catholic Church, and Rev. A. Schoeckaert will officiate. Internment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
