Raymond DeBruyne

 

Raymond DeBruyne, 68, of 1621 Milburn died before noon Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital after an illness of several months.  Born on May 13, 1914, in Kewanee, Ill., he had lived in the Mishawaka area since 1922.  He retired from Uniroyal, Inc., in 1970.  On Nov. 30, 1946, in Mishawaka, he married LaVonda Voreis, who survives.  Also surviving are a son, James A. DeBruyne of Mishawaka; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Maggie) Mahank of Mishawaka, and a brother, Louis DeBruyne of Mishawaka.  Another son, Dennis, died in 1949.

 

Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Bavo's Catholic Church with Rev. Edward Narcowich officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday.  A rosary service is planned for 8 p.m. Friday.  Contributions may be made to Sister Anne's class at St. Bavo's School.  He was a World war II veteran and belonged to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, Disabled American Veterans, the BK CLub, the DeAmicis Club and St. Bavo's Church.
