Andrew James DeBroka, 34, of N.
Byrkit Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away unexpectedly of
natural causes on Friday morning, April 2, in his residence. Andy
was born on Nov. 8, 1964, in Clinton, Okla., to James and
Charlotte (Rogers) DeBroka of Mishawaka, who survive. He
is also survived by a brother, Erik DeBroka of Mishawaka; a
maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Rogers of Mishawaka;
paternal grandparents, Florence and Dave Brown of
Mishawaka; four uncles and three aunts, Robert and Carol DeBroka
of Mishawaka, Gary and Annette Grooms of South Bend, Ind.,
Sergio and Andrea Lob of New York City, and John Rogers of
Mishawaka; and by 12 cousins. Andy was currently employed by
School City of Mishawaka as a special education teacher at
Mishawaka High School. He was a 1983 graduate of Mishawaka High
School and a 1988 graduate of Manchester College. He was the
statistician for boys and girls basketball and baseball at
Mishawaka High School. Andy was an avid Chicago White Sox fan, a
member of the N.R.A, and was a parking supervisor for Redden at
the University of Notre Dame football games.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, April 6, in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka. Services will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, in the funeral home, with Fr. Elden Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mishawaka High School Scholarship Fund in Andy's name: Mishawaka High School, Attn.
