SOUTH BEND - Steve DeBlase, 81, of
4618 S. Main Street, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Memorial
Hospital. He was the former owner of Steve’s Barber Shop on
Sample Street. He was born Mayt 8, 1911 in Lake Geneva, Wis. He
lived in this area most of his life.
On April 26, 1941, in South Bend, he married
Ida Macri. She survives with two daughters, Mary Margaret Hurst
and Stephanie Lynn DeBlase, both of South Bend; a son, Anthony
Frank of Los Gatos, Calif.; two grandchildren; a sister Santina
DeBlase of South Bend, and a brother, Joseph of South Bend. He
was a member of St. Matthew’s Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the
church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call
from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home.
