GRANGER - Helen J. DeBlase, 91, of Cheryl Drive, died at 7:50 a.m. today in Regency Place, South Bend. Mrs. DeBlase was born Feb. 8, 1905, in Goshen and lived in South Bend most of her life.

As Helen J. Sowers, she married Edward DeBlase. He preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Betty L. Laskowski of Granger; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Cookery of Mishawaka; and a brother, Dean Sowers of Mishawaka.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call one hour before services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Kidney Foundation.
