SOUTH BEND - Sister M. Therese Helene Davis CSC, 99, of Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent, died at 6:13 a.m. Tuesday in her residence. She was born as Helen Cecilia Davis on July 3, 1895, at Montpelier, Idaho.

She entered the congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Saint Mary's College, in 1927, and professed her vows Jan. 6, 1929. She was assigned to teaching in the elementary schools from 1944 to 1976 and taught in schools in California and Utah. She retired to St. Catherine's Convent, California, where she lived from 1976 to 1988. She came to Saint Mary's in 1988 and was transferred to Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent, South Bend, on May 19, 1994. She is survived by two sisters, Lillian Hampton of Alhambra, Calif., and Jean Powell of Houston.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Church of Loretto, Saint Mary's College. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today in the church, where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
