Eddy Joe Davis, 49, of Mishawaka,
Ind., passed away on Saturday, April 4, while visiting Chicago,
Ill. Mr. Davis was born on Sept. 27, 1948, to James F. Davis,
Sr., and Nelline A. (Craft) in Warsaw, Ind. His father
preceded him in death; his mother, Mrs. Raymond L. Pike,
resides in North Fort Myers, Fla. He is also survived by his
children, Samantha Jane Davis of Birmingham, Ala., and Ashley Jo
Davis of Mishawaka; and by his brothers, William Kline of
Elkhart, Ind., Steven Eaton of South Bend, Ind., and James
F. Davis, Jr., of North Fort Myers, Fla.
A 1966 graduate of South Bend Central High
School, Eddy Joe was known as ''Rickety Joe,'' and is fondly
remembered for enthusiastically leading the student body in
Central's famous ''Ziggy! Ziggy! Ziggy!'' cheer at basketball and
football games. A veteran, Mr. Davis served in Vietnam as a field
medic during the height of the conflict. He was a member of the
American Legion, John C. Peterson Post #49 in Warsaw.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on
Monday, April 20th, at the Maple Lane United Methodist Church,
54301 Maple Lane, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests that contributions be made to the Eddy Joe Davis
