10, 1946 - March 3, 2010SOUTH BEND - Karen Danz, 63, of South Bend, IN, formerly of Peoria, passed away at 7:45 p.m. on March 3, 2010, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 10, 1946, in Peoria, IL, to Edwin and Celeste (Berg) Atteberry. She married Donald Danz on June 7, 1969, in Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her husband, Donald of South Bend, IN; two sons, Timothy (Andrea) Danz of Bangladesh and Nathan Danz of Indianapolis, IN; and one brother, Dennis (Jo Ellen) Atteberry of Peoria. Karen worked as a secretary for Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN, until retiring in 2009. Prior to leaving Peoria she had worked as a secretary at the North Regional Agricultural Laboratories and at Caterpillar Inc. She and her husband served as missionaries in Haiti for several years and attended Grace Church in Granger, IN. A visitation will be held today, March 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria, with a funeral service to follow the visitation at 7:30. The Rev. Carl Galloway will officiate. Burial will be on Monday, March 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Southport Cemetery in Brimfield, IL.
