Charles Danforth, 87, a resident of the Melrose Manor Nursing Home, Mishawaka, died there at 1:30 a.m. Thursday afternoon after an illness of six months. A former resident of South Bend he was born Aug. 3, 1881 in Boston and came her 50 years ago when he began working for Woodward Pattern Works. Friend may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Forrest G. Hay and Son Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Dale Mead, pastor of Grace Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in City Cemetery.
