Janet L. Damp, 66, residing on Dunn
Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 5:20 a.m. Thursday, Feb.
12, in her residence. Janet was born on March 4, 1937, in South
Bend, to Grant E. and Bessie Mae (Mead) DeGraff,
and lived in this community all of her life.
On June 18, 1955, in South Bend, she married
Frederick Delbert Damp, who preceded her in death on June 16,
2000. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Kay Massengale.
Mrs. Damp is survived by her two daughters, Betty Ann (Tom) South
of Dodge City, Kan., and Donna Damp of Chicago, Ill.; one son,
Gary Damp of South Bend; eight grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia (Jeff) Bruce of
Clifton, Va.; and by two brothers, Larry DeGraff and Earl
(Virginia) DeGraff, both of South Bend. Mrs. Damp was a member of
the Clay Democratic Club.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 14, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528
Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin, pastor of Northway
Church of Christ, South Bend, will officiate. Interment will take
place at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call one hour
prior to services on Saturday in the funeral home.
