Frederick Delbert Damp

Frederick Delbert Damp, 68, residing
on Dunn Road, South Bend, Ind., died at 2:22 a.m. on Friday, June
16, 2000 at Memorial Hospital. Mr. Damp was a retired employee of
E.H. Tepes in the shipping and receiving department, and was
formerly employed by Wheelhorse Corporation. He was born on
October 22, 1931 in South Bend to the late George and Anna (Trinklein)
Damp and had lived in this community all of his life.
On June 18, 1955 in South Bend, he married
Janet DeGraff. He is survived by his wife, Janet, along
with two daughters, Betty Ann (Tom) South of Dodge City,
Kansas and Donna Damp of Chicago; a son, Gary Damp of South Bend;
eight grandchildren; a sister, Florence (Bill) Wilhelm of
South Bend; two brothers, Herman (Inga) Damp of South Bend and
Bob (Helen) Damp of Middlebury, Ind.; and by a sister-in-law,
Leola Damp of Granger, Ind. Mr. Damp was preceded in death by his
parents; a son, Dale in 1974; and by three brothers, Norman,
James and Henry Damp.
Mr. Damp was a U.S. Army Veteran serving his
country from 1952 - 1954. He was a member of the Clay Township
Democratic Club and of South Bend Maennerchor.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on
Monday, June 19, in Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave.,
South Bend. Rev. Earl Rynearson will officiate. Burial will take
place at a later date in Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be given to the family.
