MARCELLUS – Eileen Ranschaert Damato, 73, of 383 Elm Street, died about 8:15pm Thursday in her home after an illness. She had been a secretary and a bookkeeper.
She was born March 17, 1915, in South Bend, where she lived until 1961, when she moved to St. Petersburg FL, and then to Marcellus last January.
On April 27, 1937, in South Bend, as Eileen G. Lavo, she married John F. Ranschaert. He died October 27, 1963.
On May 16, 1970, she married Frank R. Damato, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Judith E. Manuel of South Bend, Marilyn J. Rich of Atlanta and Sandra A. Bauer of Marcellus; a son, John F. Ranschaert Jr. of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Maxine L. VanTornhout of St. Petersburg.
Friends may call from 4 to 8pm to day and from 2 to 8pm Sunday in Hahn’s DeVos Funeral Home, 505 W. Eighth Street, Mishawaka. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the National Association of Letter Carriers and the American Association of Retired Persons in Marcellus. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

DAMATO – Services for Eileen Ranschaert Damato, 73,of 383 Elm Street, who died about 8:15pm Thursday in her home, will be at 12pm Monday in the St Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm today in the Hahn’s DeVos Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society or the donor’s choice.
