Mr. Donald Gene Dallich, 52, died
after a lengthy illness at 8:08 a.m. on Sunday, August 1, in
LaPorte Hospital. Mr. Dallich resided at 6726 E. Division Road,
Mill Creek, Ind., having lived there since November 1998 when he
moved from Orlando, Florida. While in Orlando, Mr. Dallich was
employed as a general manager of an electronics firm. He was born
in South Bend on March 10, 1947, to Michael and Jean (Piotrowski)
Dallich, Sr. He had spent most of his lifetime in the South Bend
area.
On Feb. 28, 1987, in LaPorte, Ind., he was
married to Tamera L. Tibbs, who survives. He is also
survived by two daughters, Jennifer Ellis of Ossian, Ind.
and Donielle Dallich, at home; one son, Jason Dallich of Ossian;
five grandchildren; one sister, Sandra Jean Dallich of South
Bend; one brother, Michael Dallich of Granger, Ind.; and by one
niece and three nephews. Mr. Dallich had been a member of The
Salem Chapel United Methodist Church, was a U.S. Army veteran
during the Viet Nam War where he was awarded the purple heart,
former Boy Scout Troop #301 of South Bend and a 1965 graduate of
Riley High School in South Bend.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4 at the Maple Lane United Methodist Church in South Bend with Rev. Mark Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Visitation will be held at the Essling Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. only and on Wed. from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Viet Nam Disabled Veterans.
