SOUTH BEND - Rev. John Joseph Czyczel, 56, was born March
10,1952, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Annie and Charles Pasini.
As life carried him forward he was put up for adoption in Fort
Wayne and was adopted to a LaPorte, Indiana family, Stanley and
Regina Czyczel. He was raised in LaPorte and had many close
friends as well as an extended family of often called brothers
and sisters, and aunts and uncles. He has been preceded in death
by his biological mother, Annie, as well as his adopted mother,
Regina Czyczel Warfield; and adopted father, Stanley
Czyczel. Surviving brothers and sisters are Shirley Stallone
of Fort Wayne, Artie Crampton and Frances Austin of
Kalamazoo, Michigan. Also surviving is a daughter, Jennifer McGinnis
(Richard) from Medford, Oregon and their children, Jessica Gresser,
Daniel J. Gresser, Jonathan Murray and Joshua Murray of
Medford, Oregon and John Czyczel, Jr. of South Bend. John also
had a most beautiful great-granddaughter, Leslie Ann Marie
Gresser in Medford, Oregon. Anyone who knew John knew how he
loved to cook, and many shared a holiday with John and his family
throughout the years. But most important also in his life was the
faithful care of God's creatures. Many times he would care for
the wayward cat or dog as well as other animals who wandered
Indiana. St Francis of Assisi would have been pleased. On October
24, 2004, he was ordained as an Apostolic Catholic Priest thus
fulfilling a long life-time dream. His listening ear and
compassion for others certainly went far beyond the norm.
On Saturday, October 18, the community of faithful friends and family will gather in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road South Bend, where the visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a liturgy at 10:00 a.m. and burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Mishawaka. In lieu of flowers, John's wish was that donations be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, 3550 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85012-2127 Thank you to the Hickey Funeral Home and Cremation Service who have provided such warm and compassionate service by sharing their family with our family.
