Brother Victor Czerwinski CSC, 77, a teacher
for 42 years at Holy Trinity High School, Chicago, died Saturday
night in Columba Hall on the campus of the University of Notre
Dame campus. He was born Oct. 10, 1881 in Grand Rapids and
entered the Congregation of the Holy Cross Aug. 16, 1905. He took
his first vows on Mar. 19, 1908, and this year celebrated the
golden jubilee of his profession. He was assigned to Holy Trinity
High School in 1910 and served as superior and principal from
1934 through 1940. He received his bachelor of arts degree from
Notre Dame in 1926 and his masters degree in 1933. He arrived at
Notre Dame Thursday on vacation.
The Office of the Dead will be recited at 5
p.m. today in Sacred Heart Church on the Notre Dame campus.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart
Church. Friends may call at Columba Hall.
