Mark S. Czarnecki, 48, of
Frederickson Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away after a brief
illness on Wednesday, Dec. 27, in Memorial Hospital. He was born
on July 18,1952, in South Bend to Leo and Marie A. (Maternowski)
Czarnecki. He was preceded in death by his father. Mark was
currently employed by Holland Motor Express as a truck driver,
where he worked for 23 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Kelly
Czarnecki of South Bend; two sons, Keith and Chad Czarnecki, both
of South Bend; his mother, Marie A. Czarnecki of South Bend; two
sisters, Leanne (Tom) DeLater and Mary Czarnecki, both of
South Bend; two brothers, Bill (Susie) Czarnecki of Bremen, Ind.,
and David (Mary Beth) Czarnecki of South Bend; one niece; five
nephews; and by one great-niece.
Mark's favorite saying was "It's a
piece of cake", and he was always prepared for a good hand
of cards and a roll of dice. Mark loved fishing and was a
longstanding member of the PNA 83 Fisherman's Club, where he won
Fisherman of the Year numerous times. He was also an active
member of the Teamsters Union 364 of South Bend.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on
today, Dec. 29, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix
Drive, where a rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Funeral
services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30, with visitation
one hour prior to the services in the Kaniewski Funeral Chapel,
with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial
contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 535 W.
