SOUTH BEND - Loretta P. Czarnecki, 83, passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, at 2:45 p.m. in her home with her family by her side. Loretta was born on Feb. 19, 1924, in South Bend, to the late Frank and Frances Szymczak.

On May 11, 1946, she married Anthony Czarnecki. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 18, 1991, and by eight sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her children, MaryAnn (Joseph) Somers of South Bend, Richard Czarnecki of South Bend, Timothy Czarnecki of Mishawaka and Phillip (Sharon) Czarnecki of South Bend; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 28, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m. in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
