Adam P. Cygirt

October 26, 1892 – April 18, 1965

Adam Peter Cygirt, 72, died at 9am Sunday in the Columbia Nursing Home, 702 Columbia St., after a long illness.  He was a retired employee of the Studebaker Corp.

Born on October 26, 1892, in Pittsburgh PA, he came to South Bend 54 years ago.  His wife, Stella, died on June 13, 1958.  He is survived by three sons, Alex W. and Joseph P, both of South Bend and Jan, of Niles; two daughter, Mrs. Alice Park of San Diego and Mrs. Irene A. Fritz of South Bend; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a brother, Peter, of Muskegon MI, and a sister, Mrs. Frances Munson, of Rochester MI.

Friends may call after 7pm today in the St Joseph Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited there at 7:30 today.  Services will be at 9:30am Wednesday in St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Rev. Richard J. Kennedy, CSC, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.

Funeral Notes

Services for Adam P. Cygirt, 702 Columbia St., who died Sunday in the Columbia Nursing Home, will be at 9:30am Wednesday in St Patrick’s Catholic Church.  Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Ronald L. Fritz, Irvin A. Cygirt, Jr, Allan Cygirt, Peter H. Peza, Edward Steinko and Peter Kryza. The rosary will be recited at 7:30pm.
