Catherine G. Cushing, 82, of 10104, Little Pond Place, Apt. #1, Gaithersburg, Md. 20879, died in the Rockville Nursing Home on Sept. 9, after a lengthy illness.

She was born in South Bend, Ind., on Dec. 29, 1913, to Thomas and Verna Hickey Turnock. She attended local schools and graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. In 1979, she retired from the supervisory staff of the National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, Md, after 20 years of service.

On May 22, 1943, in Sacramento, Calif., she married Bernard J. Cushing of Franklin, N.H., who survives.

Also surviving is a sister, Mary Ellen Sandusky.

Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, in Gaithersburg, on Thursday, Sept. 12. Interment followed in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, in Silver Spring, Md.
