Della Moser Curtis, 88, of South
Bend, Ind., passed away on Friday, Feb. 21. She was born on Jan.
20, 1915, in Bremen, Ind., as the daughter of Alvin and Etta Mikel.
Della was preceded in death by her mother, Etta Mikel, and
father, Alvin Mikel, a sister, Gertrude Shiddecker, and
four brothers, Willard, Othie, Dave and Ernal Mikel.
In 1933, as Della Mikel in Bremen, she
married Lloyd E. Moser, who preceded her in death in 1938.
Then in 1942, in South Bend, as Della Moser, she married Odell J.
Curtis, who preceded her in death in 1977. Della is survived by
her daughter, Sharon Hitchcock of South Bend; two sons,
Larry Curtis of Mishawaka, Ind., and Alvin Moser of Osceola Ind.;
eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild; and by a sister, Minnie Cripe of
South Bend. Della enjoyed spending her time quilting, sewing,
fishing, working on her various crafts, and spending time working
in her garden. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend
who will be truly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m.
Sunday, March 23, in South Side Church of God, US 31 South, South
Bend, with Rev. Greg Crump officiating. The Hahn Funeral Home,
Mishawaka, is handling arrangements.
