Charles ''Charlie'' Curtis, 80, of Oakcrest Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, in his residence.
Mr. Curtis was born on July 19, 1917, in Hymera, Ind. On Sept. 21, 1940, in Lakeville, Ind., he married Bea Scofield, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Sharley Ann (Dale) Jobe of Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Dean W. Curtis of Vancouver, B.C., Canada; three grandchildren, Shaundra Curtis of Fruitvale, B.C., Canada, Kim (Don) Kosbar of Phoenix and Mike Jobe of South Bend; a great-granddaughter, Christina M. Kosbar of Phoenix; and by a sister, Joy Brown of Greenwood, Ind.
Mr. Curtis was a supervisor for the Associates Investment Corporation for 42 years, retiring in 1977. After his retirement he worked for the Hahn Funeral Home.
He was a member of the B-K Club, Mishawaka; The Moose Lodge 599, Elkhart; and The Associates Men's Club. Mr. Curtis also danced for many years in several square dance clubs.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. Eighth Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home, with Rev. Don Francis officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial park, Granger, Ind.
