Beatrice L. Curtis

May 29, 1920 - March 25, 1999

Bea Curtis, 78, formerly of Oakcrest Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, in Chandler Hospital, Chandler, Ariz.

Mrs. Curtis was born on May 29, 1920, in Mishawaka, Ind., as the daughter of the late Harvey and Carry (Mitchell) Scofield. Mrs. Curtis was an area resident until 1998 at which time she moved to Arizona.

On Sept. 21, 1940, in Lakeville, Ind., as the former Bea Scofield, she married Charles ''Charlie'' Curtis, who preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 1998.

Mrs. Curtis is survived by a daughter, Sharley Ann (Dale) Jobe of Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Dean W. Curtis of Vancouver, B.C., Canada; three grandchildren, Shaundra Curtis of Fruitvale, B.C., Canada, Kim (Don) Kosbar of Phoenix, and Mike Jobe of South Bend; and by a great-granddaughter, Christina M. Kosbar of Phoenix.

Mrs. Curtis was the owner of D & B Restaurant and a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed dancing in several square dance clubs with her husband, Charlie for many years. She was a member of the B-K Club, Mishawaka, as well as a member of the Moose Lodge #599 in Elkhart, Ind.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home, with Rev. Erv Mize officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
