Clara V. Cukrowicz, 77, of East Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Ind., died at 6:25 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, in Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 8, 1924, in South Bend, and was the daughter of Joseph and Lillian Carrie (Holewinski) Berus. Mrs. Cukrowicz was employed with the former Studebaker Corporation.

On Feb. 15, 1947, in South Bend, as Clara Berus, she married Edward Cukrowicz, who survives. She is also survived by her niece, Carolyn Neimier of South Bend; two nephews, James Berus of Minnesota and Robert Berus of East Elm Hurst, N.Y.; and by two sisters-in-law, Angela Berus of Minnesota and Helen C. Berus of South Bend. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony Berus and Chester Berus.

Family and friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. today in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a R osary will be said at 4 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 415 N. Brookfield Street, South Bend, IN 46628; or to the American Cancer Society.
