Sister Mary Jerome CSC, 77, of St. Mary’s Convent died Monday of a prolonged illness. She was born Machtildes Crowley on Sept. 16, 1884 in Seneca, Ill. She joined the Sisters of the Holy Cross in March of 1906 and received the habit that same year. She made her profession of vows in 1911. As her community life she taught in various schools in Danvill, Ill.,Austin, Tex., Idaho, California and Utah. She had been in the convent since 1954.

Friends may call in the convent parlor. The requiem high mass will be in Our Lady of Loretto Church at 7 a.m. Tuesday, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus.
