MISHAWAKA - Genevieve A. Crouch, 73,
of 3101 Lincoln Way E., died at 9:05 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph
Hospital. Mrs. Crouch retired in 1982 from Rib Shack, Granger, as
a cook. She was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Whitley County, Ind., and
lived in Granger for 37 years.
In 1941, in South Bend, as Genevieve A.
Shorb, she married James E. Burkhart. He died in 1972. In
1976, in Granger, she married Paul Crouch. He died in 1987. She
is survived by a daughter, Debbie Hearon of Mishawaka; two
sons, Thomas Burkhart and Ronald Burkhart, both of Mishawaka; six
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters,
Vonita Fettel of South Bend, Beaulah Riehle of St.
Joseph and Rowena Foos of Billings, Mont. She was a member
of American Legion Auxiliary Post 365, Edwardsburg, and a former
member of Harris Prairie Church of Christ, Granger.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in
Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend. Burial will be in
Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to
4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to American Lung Association or Hospice
of St. Joseph County Inc.
