Clifford P. Cripe

July 31, 1889 – January 2, 1973

Clifford P. Cripe, 83, of 725 E. Washington St., died at 6:30am Tuesday in Gulf Shores AS, where he was vacationing.  He was a retired employee of Claeys Candies.

He was born on July 31, 1889 in South Bend, and had lived here all of his life.  On August 26, 1924, in St Joseph MI, he married Leota J. Bauer, who survives along with a brother, Richard of South Bend.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Thursday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home.  Mr Cripe was a member of the First Presbyterian Church; St Joseph Lodge 45, F & AM; Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend; Chapter 29 RAM; Mizpah Shrine Temple, Fort Wayne; South Bend Shrine Club and Chapter 2 O E S.  He was a WW I veteran and a member of Post 50 American Legion, Chapter 6, D A V and the V F W
