Salvatore Crimaldi, 70, of Ardmore Trail, South Bend, died at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday at the Hospice House in South Bend. He was born April 22, 1927, in North Canton, Ohio and lived in this area since 1947. He retired in 1971 from Sollitt Construction.
In 1978, he married Mary Etta Szabo who preceded him in death in 1987. Surviving Mr. Crimaldi are two daughters, Patti Hartman of South Bend and Karen Grove of Mishawaka; three sons, Gary Crimaldi of Mishawaka, James Losicki of South Bend and Roberto Cox of Middleton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rose Dalessio and Violet Crimaldi, both of Akron, Ohio. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Tony Crimaldi.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 5 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
Mr. Crimaldi was a member of Hod Carriers Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437.
