Dorothy M. Cressy, 87, of Delaware Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, in the Saint Joseph Care Center West. Dorothy was born on March 7, 1914, in Logansport, Ind., to the late Lawrence and Marie M. (Surface) Williams.

Dorothy married on Feb. 14, 1941, in South Bend, to Robert J. Cressy, who preceded her in death on May 10, 1981. She was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Jr. Dorothy retired from Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in 1975 after 20 years as a housemother. She was also employed with Bendix, Studebakers and the Olivers. She is survived by two daughters, JoAnne (Bob) Roe of South Bend and Catherine M. (Dale) Loveitt of Syracuse, Ind.; a son, Guy (Martha) Cressy of South Bend; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and by two sisters, Eva Reynolds of Perris, Calif., and Verna Wood of South Bend.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday in the McGann Funeral Home, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to Holy Family Church of South Bend.
