SOUTH BEND - Dale L. Coy, 90, of Inwood Hills Estates, South
Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 15th following a
long decline. She was born on March 30, 1920, in Beebe, Arkansas,
to Jenny and Clarence Huston, and had grown up in Mishawaka with
her sister, Norma Jean Williams, and half brother, Otis
Dunkleberger. Dale attended Mishawaka High School where she
excelled as lead singer in their school choir. After graduation
she worked as a teller in a South Bend bank, and on June 1, 1940,
married Homer E. Coy, a native of Milford. They had two sons,
Brent E Coy of Morristown, New Jersey, and Philip H. Coy of
Cincinnati, Ohio. Dale is survived by both her sons, and her
granddaughters, Catherine D. Coy of Brooklyn, New York, and Wendy
Coy Shattuck of Newport, Rhode Island. Also surviving are her
niece and nephew, Carolyn Williams Siebert of Cape Coral,
Florida, and Gregory P. Williams of Elkhart, Indiana; and a
cousin, Leta Clark Seal of South Bend. The family will greet
guests at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka,
from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 20th. Burial
will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
