Margaret E. (Blondeel) Cox, 89, of
Grand Boulevard, Mishawaka, passed away peacefully surrounded by
her family in the early morning hours of Friday, January 20, in
her home.
Margaret was born in Mishawaka, IN, on March
7, 1916, as the daughter of Adolph and Augusta (Braet)
Blondeel. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers,
Ivo and Arthur Blondeel; and by two sisters, Flossie Wettergren
and Clara Robbins-Thompson.
On September 3, 1938, as Margaret Blondeel,
in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka, she married Harold W.
Cox, who survives. Also surviving Margaret are one son, Ronald E.
Cox, and his companion, Judy Myers of Mishawaka; two
grandchildren, Debra (Joe) DeVreese of Mishawaka and
Christine (Stan) Roahrig of Mishawaka; four
great-grandchildren, Nathan, Claire and Andrew DeVreese, and
Tyler Roahrig; and two sisters, Zelma Tribbey and Alice Lambert,
both of Mishawaka. Margaret was a member of St. Bavo Catholic
Church, and a charter member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She
was a lifelong area resident. She enjoyed spending time with her
family and always had a smile for everyone.
Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m.
to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23rd, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505
W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held
at 1:30 p.m., following the visitation, in St. Bavo Catholic
Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial
will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. The family requests
in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to The Center
for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court,
South Bend, IN 46637; or to St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th
Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
