Hazel Mae Cox

Hazel Mae (Cooper) Cox, 88, went to
be with her heavenly Father at 5:45 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21,
1999 in Venus, Texas. She was born second eldest of fifteen
children to Otto E. and Lula B. (Hudkins) Cooper on
Nov. 25, 1910 in Fulton County, Ind. She was formerly of the
Mishawaka, Hammond and Cedar Lake area.
She was married to Clarence Cox on Nov. 25,
1928 in Fulton County. He preceded her in death. She was also
preceded in death by six infant children; four sisters, Irene Brown,
Gladys Jones, and infant twin girls; and by seven
brothers, Clarence, Norman, Ezra, Elmer, Earl, Otto, Jr., and
Paul. She was a homemaker, raising a son and two granddaughters
whom she loved dearly. She loved cooking for her family and
others. Always helping someone in need, her family will miss her
laughter, her love and her caring and sharing.
She is survived by a son, W. Glen ''Jimmie''
Cox of Sparks, Nev.; a granddaughter, Debra Santana of
Venus, with whom she made her home and who was her caretaker;
three grandsons, Harlan Santana and Jerrod and Joshwa Henslee,
all of Texas; one great-granddaughter, Jana Henslee of
Texas; a great-grandson, Brandon Santana; two sisters, Pearl L. Moen
of Mishawaka and V. Lucille (Bob) Gushwa of South Bend;
and by a brother, DeVon E. Cooper of Kingman, Ariz.
Graveside services will take place at 10
a.m. on Friday at Fairview Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor
Warren Banks of the Gospel Center, South Bend. Memorial
contributions in Mrs. Cox's name may be made to Gospel Center
Missionary Church, 930 30th Street, South Bend. Bubb Funeral
Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, is in charge of
the funeral arrangements.
