MISHAWAKA - Harold W. Cox, 97, died at 4:27 A.M. Tuesday,
Oct. 30th, in his residence. Harold was born September 30, 1910,
in Bremen, to Lewis W. and Etta (Forsythe) Cox.
On September 3, 1938, in Mishawaka, Harold
married Margaret E. Blondeel, and together they enjoyed 67
years of marriage. Margaret died on January 20, 2006. Harold is
survived by one son, Ronald E. Cox, and his companion, Judy Myers,
both of Mishawaka; two grandchildren, Debra (Joe) DeVreese
and Christine (Stan) Roahrig, both of Mishawaka; four
great-grandchildren, Nathan, Claire and Andrew DeVreese, and
Tyler Roahrig; and a brother, Richard Cox, also of Bremen. Harold
was also preceded in death by a brother, Floyd, and two sisters,
Edna Bailey and Edith Meister, all of Bremen.
Harold worked for Bendix in the aviation division until 1946 when
he entered into the family business, Lewis Cox and Sons Plumbing
and Heating in Bremen before retiring in 1979. He was also the
caretaker of the Bremen Cemetery for many years, and along with
his father and brothers established Cox and Sons Vaults. Harold
enjoyed spending time with his family and spent many hours
helping his son with the family business. His love, wisdom and
support will never be matched. Harold was a member of St. Bavo
Catholic Church and he was also a charter member of Eagles 2083.
Family and friends may visit from 9 a.m. on
Thursday, Nov. 1, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St.,
Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m.
Thursday in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with the Rev.
Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview
Cemetery. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church, 502 W. 7th
St., Mishawaka, IN.
