MISHAWAKA - Fredrick L. Cox, 85, of White Oak Drive, died at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after an illness. Mr. Cox retired from AM General Corp. in 1973. He was born Sept. 22, 1908, in Fairmount, Ind., and lived in Mishawaka since 1973, coming from Detroit.

On Feb. 14, 1942, in South Bend, he married Hildegarde R. Wallisch. She survives, with two daughters, Nancy L. Hammock of Granger and Kathy S. Lyons of West Lafayette, Ind.; and three grandchildren; A grandson, Todd Hammock, preceded him in death. He was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and was past president of America Association of Retired Persons.

Services will be 9 a.m. Friday in Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend. Entombment will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
