SOUTH BEND - Clifford R. Cowen, 92, of St. Paul's Retirement Home, died at 6 a.m. today in Americana Nursing Home, Elkhart. Mr. Cowen retired in 1966 from Uniroyal Plastics Co., Mishawaka.

He was born June 4, 1902, in Leiters Ford. On June 2, 1928, in Leiters Ford, he married Avanelle G. Kurtz. She survives with a daughter, Carolyn S. McCoy of Palm City, Fla.; a son, Richard L. of Osceola; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Addison of South Bend. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, Mishawaka Masonic Lodge 150 and Uniroyal Management Club.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Entombment will be in Riverview Cemetery.
