Sister Mary Elena CSC, died in St.
Mary’s Convent this morning. She was born Oct. 20, 1887 in
Coolville, Ohio as Ellen Costello and entered the
Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s
on 1911 and made her profession of vows in 1918. She graduated
from Mount Carmel Hospital School of Nursing in Columbus Ohio,
and was assigned to hospitals in Illinois, Ohio, Salt Lake City
and Boise, Idaho, and St. Joseph in South Bend.She retired tp St.
Mary’s Convent a few years ago.
Services will be Monday in Our Lady of
Loretto Church with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the
campus. Friends may call today and until services, in the convent
parlors.
