Bette B. Cossman, 78, of Granger,
Ind., passed away Tuesday, July 16, in Saint Joseph Regional
Medical Center. he was born May 20, 1924, as the daughter of
Phillip and Bertha (Sofan) Soslowsky.
Bette is survived by her husband, Max; and
two daughters, Elaine Cossman of Los Angeles, Calif., and Shelley
Osborne of Amherst, N.H.; her son-in-law, Brian; and by a
grandson, Geoffrey Osborne.
While at Central High School, Bette was
secretary and reader for Rabbi Parzen of Sinai Synagogue. After
graduating, Bette was secretary at Berman's Sport Shop,
secretary-treasurer of Comet Car Wash, secretary of Joe Budd Book
Bindery and vice president of Sosco Builders. She also held the
position of president of Sinai Sisterhood. She was an avid mah
jong and bridge player. She enjoyed reading, playing golf and
other hobbies.
Memorial gifts may be made to Sinai
Synagogue, 1102 East LaSalle, South Bend, or to the charity of
the donor's choice. The Hay Funeral Home is handling
arrangements.
