SOUTH BEND - Evelyn R. Cossette, 79, of South Bend, passed away at 4:58 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2007, at the Hospice House, South Bend after an extended illness. Mrs. Cossette was born on October 15, 1928, in South Bend, to the late Ernest and Forella (Scheidegger) Metz. She had been a lifelong resident of South Bend.

On August 3, 1991, in South Bend, she married Edward J. Cossette. Along with her husband, Edward, survivors include; a daughter, Diane (and Terry) Ladson of South Bend; her granddaughter, Judy Love; and a great-granddaughter, Rachel Love. Evelyn was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Vargo on January 15, 2003; and one stepson, Michael Cossette on April 14, 1991.

Per Evelyn's wishes, cremation will take place at Southlawn Cremation Services. There will be no visitation. There will be a private burial at a later date at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Contributions in memory of Evelyn R.
