Merritt D. Cory Sr.

SOUTH BEND - Merritt D. Cory Sr., 80, of 516 E. Corby Blvd., died at 4:01 p.m. Saturday in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. Mr. Cory retired from Federal Paper Board Co., Elkhart, after 37 years of service. He was born Jan. 21, 1913, in Milford. On Sept. 9, 1939, in Goshen, he married Marie A. Wilke. She survives with a son, Merritt D. Jr. of Elkhart; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans Post 19 and a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Elkhart. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, where military services will be conducted by DAV Post 19. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
