Wilson F. Corn, 89, of South Bend,
Ind., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 30, in Hamilton Communities.
He was born on March 21, 1913, in Stendal, Ind., to George and
Bertha (Henning) Corn.
On April 10, 1941, he married the former
Hollis Huey, who preceded him in death in 1964. Mr. Corn
was a Navy officer in World War II. He had been a teacher, a
basketball coach in Kokomo, Ind., and had played collegiate
football. He was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity, the
Masonic Lodge of Patoka, Ind., the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis,
Ind., and the Main Street United Methodist Church in Kokomo.
He is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann
Hubner and husband, Jerry of South Bend; two grandchildren,
Melinda Phillips and husband, Charles of Albany, Ind., and Steven
Hubner and wife, Holly of South Bend; one great-grandchild,
Katelyn Phillips; and by a special friend, Vera Hubbard.
Services for Wilson F. Corn will be on
Monday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. in the Harris and Sons Funeral Home in
Petersburg, Ind. Burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in
Petersburg. Visitation will be held in South Bend today, Nov. 1,
from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home. Family and
friends may also call two hours prior to service time on Monday
in the Harris and Sons Funeral Home in Petersburg. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Wilson
F. Corn to a charity of the donor's choice.
