SOUTH BEND-Samuel D. Corle, 85 of Cleveland Road, died at 12;10
am today in Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, after an illness. Mr.
Corle retired as an electrician from Koontz-Wagner Electric Co.
and he was a former school bus driver. He was born Aug. 14, 1907,
in Kankakee, Ill., and lived in South Bend most of his life. On
Aug. 14, 1929 in South Bend, he married Florence Williams. She
survives with a daughter, Phyllis White of Mishawaka; four
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister Elva
Humphrey of South Bend. A daughter, Nancy Holm, died in 1984. He
was a member of Council Oak Masonic Lodge 745, Scottish Rite
Valley of South Bend, and Avalon Grotto. Services will be at 11
am Wednesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland
Road. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Tuesday in the funeral
home, where Masonic services will be at 7 pm.
