Sister Mary Leonce CSC, 85, of the
Sisters of the Holy Cross, died early today in Saint Mary’s
Convent after a lengthy illness. She was born in Newfoundland in
1883, coming to the United States in 1900. She received the habit
of the congregation in December 1900, and made her profession of
final vows in 1906. During her community life she was assigned to
churches in LaPorte; Austin, Tex.; Boise, Idaho; Baltimore, Md.;
and Lancaster, Pa. She had been at St. Mary’s Convent since
1939.
The requiem high mass is scheduled for 7:10
a.m. Monday followed by burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on
the campus. Friends may call in the convent parlor.
