SOUTH BEND - Kathryn Lucille Corbett, 87, of South Bend, formerly
of Windsor Avenue where she had lived over 50 years, passed away
Thursday morning in the Morningside Nursing Center. She was born
December 9, 1922, in Monterey, IN, to the late Valentine and
Mabel (Betterling) Reinhold. On December 27, 1941, in Lieters
Ford, IN, she married Warren M. Corbett, who died in 1989. She is
survived by daughters, Kathleen Kelsey (Robert) of Big Piney, WY,
Julie Knepp of Avon, IN; son, Michael Corbett (Norma) of
Walkerton, IN; eight grandchildren, Larry (Jennifer) Corbett,
Gerry (Kelly) Corbett, Randy (Rhonda) Corbett, Bruce (Anna)
Corbett, Jason (Jennifer) Knepp, Michele (Steve) Purvis, Donald
(Michelle) Kelsey and Thomas (Megan) Kelsey; 10
great-grandchildren, Brandon Corbett, Darren, Emily and Christine
Corbett, Brent Corbett, Wesley Knepp, Bryce Purvis, Megan and
Kyle Kelsey, and Andrew Purvis; one great-great- grandchild,
Riley Benhart; two sisters, Elsie Tuley of Rolling Prairie,
Judith (Howard) Carlisle of Argos; five brothers, Lowell Reinhold
of Winamac, Valentine (Esther) Reinhold Jr. of Monterey, Byron
(Nancy) Reinhold of Rolling Prairie, Hubert (Marie) Reinhold of
Goshen and David (Vivian) Reinhold of Kewanna. Kathryn worked as
a sales associate for K-Mart on South Michigan Street for 16
years. She was a member of Lydick United Methodist Church for
over 50 years, was a member of the Warren Township Fire
Department Auxiliary, The Warren Township PTA and The Home
Economic Club of Warren Township. Her family was #1 in her life;
she was a great loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was the best baker and friend to those who loved her. Funeral
services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 24th, in the Lydick
United Methodist Church, 26510 W. Edison Road, with Pastor James
Toole officiating and burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family today from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. in
the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Memorial
contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 310 W.
McKinley, Mishawaka, IN 46554; or to the Lydick United Methodist
