MISHAWAKA - Delphine Coppens, 88, of Fountainview Place, formerly of West Eighth Street, died at 7:42 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. Mrs. Coppens was born May 13, 1907, in Houwaart, Belgium.

On Nov. 3, 1923, in Belgium, as Delphine LaBro, she married Achiel E. Coppens. He died Dec. 5, 1969. She is survived by a daughter, Sylvia L. Kanczuzewski of South Bend; a son, Thomas of North Liberty; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Adrienne Coppens, preceded her in death. She was a member of the former Rosary Society of St. Bavo's Catholic Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hahn Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
