SOUTH BEND - Dale C. Cooper, 90, of South Bend, passed
away after an extended illness at 9:26 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, in
Memorial Hospital. Mr. Cooper was born on October 1, 1917, in
Marcellus, MI, and was a resident of the Michiana area his
lifetime.
On June 30, 1940, in Marcellus, he married
the former Florence E. Swartz, who survives. Also
surviving are a daughter, Kay I. (Skip) Budny of Danville,
IN, and a son, Larry G. (Reba) Cooper of New Carlisle, IN. Also
four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren whom he loved
and cherished, and a sister, Elaine Lewis of Englewood,
FL. Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by a sister, Cecile Nowicki,
by his twin brother, Hale Cooper, and by a brother, Ralph Cooper.
Dale retired from Hubbell-Raco Corp. in
South Bend in 1980 after 42 years of service. He was an
electrical supplies superintendent. Dale was a wonderful husband,
father and grandfather who loved and cherished his family, as did
his family cherish him. Mr. Cooper loved painting, home building,
refurbishing furniture, caning, gardening and carpentry. He was a
member of the Lydick United Methodist Church and Lydick Lions
Club. The family request that all memorial contributions be made
to the Lydick United Methodist Church, 26510 West Edison Road,
South Bend, IN 46628.
Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 29, in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest
Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana
23, South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,
Nov. 30, in Lydick United Methodist Church. Pastor Jennifer
Johns-Gooding will officiate and entombment will follow at
Riverview Mausoleum, South Bend. Friends may call one hour prior
to services time in the church. The HANLEY & Sons

and services and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt
prayers to the Cooper family.
