James W. Cook

James W. "Bill" Cook, 83, of Jewell Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 23, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Cook was born in South Bend on July 16, 1916, to Albert and Bertha Cook. He married the former Irene Kuespert on May 9, 1942. He was a World War II Navy veteran, and had worked as a machinist for the Alumni Tool and Die Company for many years. Mr. Cook was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; a son, Charles W. (Virginia) Cook of Brownsburg, Ind.; two daughters, Pattie (Alan) Bell of Mishawaka, Ind., and Connie (John) Garbacz of South Bend; five grandchildren, Susan, Shelly, Jennifer, Chris and Ryan; one great-granddaughter, Jasmine; and by a sister, Alberta Barber of South Bend.
The body will be cremated. There will be no services.
The Forest G. Hay Funeral Home is handing arrangements.
